| First |
This project began as a way to record important things. We read "The Important Book" by Margaret Wise Brown and wrote a list of things that were important to us at that moment in time. |
| Second |
Then we thought about the April 2 tornado that hit our town last spring and made a list of what had been important right after the tornado when some people did not have electricity, a dry bed, or a house left standing. This somehow led to questioning what might have been important when our parents or grandparents were in fifth grade. |
| Third |
The students came up with a list of 30 important questions they wanted to use to interview someone older. |
| Fourth |
After the interview, they had to pick their ten favorite questions and answers to create a document in Inspiration about important things now and important things years ago. |
| Fifth |
After all their ideas and answers were organized, they wrote a document in Word about what they had learned. |
| Sixth |
The last step was to create a Dreamweaver document to present their findings to share with their parents. |
| Seventh |
We had a family night to share our work with our parents. |
