Do you really think you know where you live? Have you ever traveled outside of your community? Your city? Your county? Your state? Your country? Your continent? So, think, in relation to the WHOLE world, where exactly do you live?
Did you know the world has 7 continents, 193 countries, 50 states in the United States, thousands of counties, millions of cities, and billions of towns?
How could you know all of this exists? This fascinating question prompts you to decide that when you get older you might want to become an aerial photographer. You and your parents decide to rent a plane with a licensed pilot and travel the world because you want to know what the world looks like from above.
You begin thinking, "I am going to fly in a plane. What will keep my plane and all the other planes flying in the air from hitting each other?" It is coordinates!!! I think I need to see some proof (click on high speed or low speed) about these coordinates.
When you finish your exciting travels, you will be able to create your own coordinate grid about the favorite place to which you visited and be able to convince others why learning this skill is necessary.
